A new alarming
e-mail virus
In the last few days
our attention has been drawn to an extremely alarming e-mail virus
hoax.
The e-mail arrived on our computer a few times in the last few
days. It is addressed from names like Security Services and looks
extremely like an e-mail from Microsoft. Attached to the message
is a virus which our copy of Norton Antivirus recognised.
The text of the e-mail prompts users to install what it calls
a cumlative patch update. Delete the e-mail message immedately.
Microsoft will automatically update most security problems with
recent operating systems when you connect to the new and I believe
they will never send an e-mail like this.

Web site of
the Month
Statesman or Skatesman
? - http://www.statesmanorskatesman.co.uk/
This site asks the
question is your local MP interesting. Following an argument with
his father the creator of the site conducted a national campaign
writing to every MP in the country asking them if they had ever
been on any of the following
(a) a skateboard;
(b) roller skates and/or blades;
(c) a space hopper;
(d) a go kart;
(e) a death slide;
(f) a non-motorised scooter;
(g) a BMX bike;
(h) or any other locomotive child's toy?
"Everyone said that none of them would write back. But lots
did. And this website is the result.
It includes responses from three Prime Ministers, five Chancellors,
six Foreign Secretaries, four Home Secretaries, and three Speakers
of the House of Commons. "
