Being a celebrity can be a difficult business, with the latest phone hacking allegations surrounding many prominent public figures it seems that the press are able to use technology to get inside the lives of the rich and famous.

This week David and Victoria Beckham have posted pictures of themselves with new baby Harper Seven on their facebook and twitter feeds, even going so far as to announce that the name Harper came from the author of To Kill A Mockingbird – Harper Lee.

The beckhams obviously feel that using social media to their advantage is the best way to avoid becoming a victim of pushy news agencies and gossip media formats.

This is an important lesson for businesses too, use social media to your advantage, get your message across quickly and effectively to your clients and avoid being caught out.  They say its better to be talked about than not be talked about, and wouldn’t it be even better if you can make those conversations happen?
